Partnering for a Sustainable Chicago
Partnering for a Sustainable Chicago is an environmental network facilitating the circulation of knowledge and the building of community connections on Chicago’s South Side. We are developing new opportunities for bringing the humanities to bear on the urgent questions of how to connect to our communities and to nature in ways that promote peace, friendship, and justice.

Southside Arts and Humanities Network
The Southside Arts and Humanities Network, "The Network," is a collection of small and mid-sized arts and humanities organizations based on the south side of Chicago. Our purpose is to strengthen the ties that bind together the Southside Arts and in so doing make the rest of the city aware of the abundance of cultural activity that exists south of downtown.

Winning Words
With Winning Words, young people on Chicago’s South Side are introduced to the joys and wonders of philosophy and provided with greater educational opportunities for practicing considered self-expression, reasonable and cooperative conversation, collaborative inquiry, and thoughtful self-examination. They practice the arts of philosophical dialogue and the famous Socratic method, along with public speaking and reading, dramatic performance, and other verbal arts drawn from the humanities.

Odyssey Project and EduCom
The Odyssey Project provides a free yearlong course in five humanities subjects (literature, U.S. history, critical thinking and writing, philosophy, and art history) for adults at or below the poverty level. University scholars create an intellectually engaging classroom similar to what students at elite universities experience.
